We at Espresso Computing, Inc. (“Espresso AI”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) respect your data and are strongly committed to keeping secure and confidential any data we obtain from you or about you. This Data Use Policy describes our practices with respect to data we collect from you or about you for the purposes of model training and fine-tuning, benchmarking, and integration, and the personal information we process to provide our service.

Collecting user data allows us to improve the capabilities and performance of our AI system. Being able to train and benchmark on your data will allow us to fine-tune our model for your use-case and significantly improve performance specifically for your business.

We know that your data is confidential and proprietary and take this responsibility very seriously, and we are committed to transparency about data use and providing you with control over how your data is used in our process.

Purpose of Data Use: Developing Espresso’s AI models and systems.

Data Storage: Espresso AI database in a major cloud provider.

Data Processing and Handling: Data will be accessed only by Espresso AI personnel strictly for approved business purposes.

Information Sharing: We may use third-party APIs to help develop or run our product. We do not use any third-party APIs which train on user data.

This document covers data shared with Espresso AI for the purpose of developing and training our models, AI systems, and user integrations.

Data will be stored in an Espresso AI database, hosted in the cloud. Espresso AI personnel may, from time to time, make local copies of parts of this data as needed for development. These copies will be deleted once no longer required.

Your query logs and database metadata (e.g. table schemas, table statistics, and runtimes) will be used to train our AI models to optimize query performance. No customer database data is used for training.

Personal information

When you use our service, we collect your account information (such as your name and email address) and records of the actions you take in the service. We use this information to provide, secure, and support the service. We do not sell personal information or use it to train AI models.

Espresso AI in AI assistants

If you connect Espresso AI to an AI assistant, the assistant sends us your requests and we return the information needed to answer them, such as your account details and configuration. We never share your password with the assistant. Information we return to an assistant is handled by its provider under that provider’s terms.

Information Sharing

Information may be shared with listed third parties for the purpose of developing, training, and testing models and providing the services. These include service providers that host, secure, and support our service, AI assistants you choose to connect, administrators in your organization, and others where required by law. No third party is allowed to train on customer metadata.

Retention and your choices

We keep your personal information with your account so your history stays available to you and your organization. You can ask us to delete it at any time, including after your account closes, and we will do so unless the law requires us to keep it. You can disconnect an AI assistant at any time, and you can ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal information by contacting support@espresso.ai.
