Snowflake replication copies databases and other supported objects between accounts in different regions or clouds. Replication and failover can create compute, storage, and data-transfer charges.
Replication services consume credits for the work required to copy changed data and metadata. The destination account stores the replicated data, and cross-region or cross-cloud transfers can incur data-transfer charges.
The cost depends on replication frequency, changed data volume, destination location, and the number of replicated objects. A schedule that runs more often can reduce recovery-point lag while increasing replication work.
